 I am a coffee addict so grab a cup of coffee and let's get to know each other!
My name is Kimberly Scott, I am a southern born GRITS (Girl Raised In The South)! I live near Jonesboro, Georgia. We proudly call
ourselves "The Home of Tara". Being from such a creative family, I was
bound to find a career using those artistic genes. God is so good, He
has been preparing me for this mission all of my life! My Grandmother
says that I was born with a love of jewelry so that when it became time
for me do become a jewelry/bead artist, I would be ready! I think that
she is right!! Steeped in the eclectic culture of the Deep South,
Heavenly Fire was born. I like to say that my art is inspired in Heaven
and created by Fire.
 Hot glass art has opened so many doors for me. I have met a lot of fabulous people along the way that have molded
me into the artist that I am today. I look forward to many, many more
years growing my craft. If I had a particular style, I would say that
it's the use of experimentation and the unexpected. I am not afraid to
stretch myself and reach beyond the boundaries of what is common and
expected. Some of my favorite pieces have come from what started out as
a happy mistake in experimenting with unusual combinations. My current
passion is the layering of colors achieved by mixing frit and sparkling
Borosilicate colors. The only drawback is the difficulty I experience
in photographing these little works of art. But hey, we can't have it
all!
I started out as a self taught artist, but I soon realized that there
was much to learn from those artist that I most admired. While I have
not taken classes from everyone I would I like to, I have been
fortunate enough to take classes with Lori Robbins, Sharon Peters and
Deanna Griffin Dove. I have plans for many classes in coming years so
hang on to your hats! My dream class would be with the pioneering
Robert Mickelson.
On
the personal side, I am married to my best friend and we have four perfect (ha ha) children ranging in age from 21 to 7. My Son, DJ is currenly
serving in the U.S. Army, stationed in Afghanistan. I also share my
life
with three parrots, a Chocolate Lab and my 'boy friend' Chander...he is
a Maltese. I am very active in my Church, singing in our Praise and
Worship Choir, it's the most joyous thing that I do, outside of being a
Wife and Mother.
My 'day' job is to make people feel good! I am a Local Store Marketing Manager for Bruster's Real Ice Cream and Marketing Manager for New Beginnings Training. I work with a fabulous group of people that have a total focus of having a positive impact on people's lives. It is so nice to work in such a positive and inspiring environment. We are honestly given the freedom to use the gifts that God gave us to grown His kingdom and care for His children.
I am a proud and active member of the following Art Associations and Forums.
